For Sojourners Magazine’s feature “The Measure of a Man”, I embarked on a portrait series of Charles Rodgers—a man whose past was defined by incarceration, but whose present is defined by purpose and transformation. My goal: to move beyond the “single story” and reveal the complex humanity of his journey.

Working with minimal framing yet maximum intention, each image sought to capture a dimension of Rodgers’ life: the weight of his history, the layer of redemption, the tenderness of fatherhood, and the resolve of a man reshaping his narrative.
