Apple — Hometown: Washington, D.C.

Commissioned by Apple for their Hometown series, I documented Washington, D.C. through a human-first lens—focusing on the people, neighborhoods, and everyday moments that give the city its real pulse. As part of a cohort of Black photographers capturing our hometowns for Black History Month, my goal was to reveal the D.C. locals know: intimate, textured, and alive.

Shot entirely on the iPhone 12 Pro, the series blends street observations and environmental portraits to elevate the beauty in the ordinary. It’s a commercial assignment approached with the same poetic rigor as my personal work—grounded, cinematic, and rooted in authentic storytelling.
